Acorn Recycling composting facility are now producing Class 1 compost which is being sold for a number of uses, mainly as an organic fertiliser and soil improver in agriculture and domestic use.  When mixed with soil the compost improves the soil structure and nutrient content resulting in a richer, more fertile soil.

As well as bulk agriculture customers, Acorn Recycling are particularly delighted with the response from local household users who collect car trailers of compost for garden use.

Acorn Recycling are also looking at developing high end markets for their compost such as use as a top dressing on sports turf and are currently taking part in a trial whereby their compost is used to improve the characteristics of sport turf by applying a thin layer.
